minus Fifty years ago = 1949, every Wednesday I "had to"
go take singing lessons from Prof. Cairati in Zurich. The other children
in the orphanage
SONNENBERG were "allowed" to help with the gardening. It was said that
I had a good voice and enjoyed music. |
| 1995
minus Forty years ago = 1958 and after a four year apprenticeship,
I "had to" take my certificate as an electrician. It was said that I was
fond of anything "electrical." As a small boy, they had seen me play with
wires and other "electrical" stuff. |
| 1999
minus Thirty years ago = 1969, I "had to" go to recruit training
for 17 weeks. I was "allowed" to become a Swiss soldier, a specialist in
telephony, machine pistols, and hand grenades and - song. At that time,
the Swiss Army also trained its recruits in singing. |

1997
minus Twenty years ago = 1977, I used to sell American plugs,
cables and machinery to Swiss industry; the machines I installed myself;
I was an installing sales representative. |

1999
minus Ten years ago = 1989, I sang second tenor in the yodel
club SCHWYZERHÜSLI. We also sang
in church and elsewhere the Jodlermesse by Josef Marti. |

1998
minus Five years ago = 1993, my American wife Evelyn said
to me: “It sounds like a StoneHarp.” After that, I installed my first StoneHarp,
which I called NUFENEN. |

1998
minus Four years ago = 1994, I had my first appearance on
TV. I showed the audience the StoneHarp NUFENEN and played my first "public"
piece of music. |

1998
minus Three years ago = 1995, my friend Emil gave me a zither
with 5 chords as a present - I presented him with my second StoneHarp,
the RIVEO. The harp NUFENEN was sawed in pieces and packed up - Evelyn
and I were moving to the States, to Colorado Springs. The StoneHarp NUFENEN
came along with us; the StoneHarp RIVEO stayed behind in Emil's garden. |
